Today, I propose you a little recipe in honor of the carnival! You probably don’t know this, but I have a kind of curse about carnival. Living in the north, I have dreamed of going to the Dunkirk carnival for years, but it seems that every year something unexpected happens that prevents me from doing it. Three years ago, I also wanted to find out about Cassel’s, but new unexpected, and the project was cancelled.
Two years ago, I boarded a plane to attend the one in Nice, and as the threat of Covid intensified, the closing weekend was cancelled, just the night I booked my tickets, while the rest of the carnival had taken place! All this to say that at almost forty years old, I have never had a carnival, and I am the first frustrated! The Carnival of Nice having been put back in place this year, I try my luck, and go there again, hoping that it will take place this time!
For the occasion, I idea I would share a recipe for waffles. Actually, I didn’t make them specially for a carnival, however it’s a birthday celebration the place they devour a lot of sweets, doughnuts or fried recipes, which are supposed to please children. So I thinking that these waffles had all their legitimacy for this event!
🍄Ingredients and substitutions
In phrases of aroma, be cautious to use a cherry blossom petal heady scent and now not an fragrant water, which will be too light. The scent is strongly diluted in the bathtub water, so the salts have to have a nicely centred scent.
🥣Method
This recipe is extremely simple, it’s like a pancake batter, simply combine the components in the end!
Serve these waffles sprinkled with icing sugar, spread, liquid caramel, banana slices…
🌿Green Tips
Coconut oil, even though frequently used in healthful cooking, is now not hyper ethical: it typically comes from some distance away and its cultivation regularly includes animal abuse. So appear at its beginning and whether or not it consists of emblems of animal associations that certify a respectable mode of production. Otherwise, butter or different oil can exchange it except worry.
❄️Preservation and freezing
The dough can be saved in the fridge for 1 or two days. Once cooked, the waffles can preserve for 1 to two days and heat in the microwave, even if the texture will now not be as pleasant.
